Longtime missionary in Peru, Bert Elliot, preaches in Spanish at a Waorani/Waodani/Huarani (The People) conference in Ecuador in 2006. The conference was organized and led by members of the Waorani church. It marked the commemoration of the deaths of Bert's brother and four others in January 1956. Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Pete Fleming, Roger Youderian and Ed McCully were speared to death in their efforts to reacy the Waorani with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their murderers later became followers of Christ and a church was born among a people formerly unevangelized. Bert's message is translated into English and Waorani. It lasts about 17 minutes with all of this translation. The translator is Dan Rogers, who serves as a missionary in Ecuador as do his parents.
